Two Ontario-based humans, definitely not fairies, making normal human music, definitely not for mystical beings. You may be tempted to listen to these songs while dancing in the moonlight, or eating a singular strawberry at peak ripeness. Remember though: you are a human, not a fairy. (Right?)

Just kidding (or are we?)Lo & the High Road is made up of two musicians, Lauren Halász (songwriting, vocals, bass, bodhrán) and Colin McMahon (songwriting, arrangement, production, guitar, mandolin, bouzouki), as well as additional guest artists.They released their first album: Jackalope Tales (& other stories) on November 3rd, 2023. Additional artists featured on this album are Christine Rabey (vocals), Evan Dando (flugelhorn), Jordan Baldwin (fiddle), Kristan Toczko (harp), and Mark Swan (percussion).The cover art for their debut album is by Evan Halász.

Their second album, Standing Stones, features Christine Rabey (vocals), Jordan Baldwin (violin, viol, vocals), Saskia Tomkins (Nyckelharpa), and Steáfán Hannigan (uilleann pipes, Bodhrán, Irish whistle), David Finneran (background vocals, percussion), Martin Gladman (percussion), and Amanda Weatherall (background vocals). The cover art is designed by Abbey Komes.

Short Bio:Lo & the High Road is made up of two musicians, Lauren Halász (songwriting, vocals, bass, bodhrán) and Colin McMahon (songwriting, arrangement, production, guitar, mandolin, bouzouki), as well as additional guest artists. They come from Northumberland County, Ontario. Lo & the High Road plays Celtic-inspired Canadian folk music, writing originals inspired by fantasy, folklore, and nature. They also perform traditional folk songs from Canada, Ireland, Scotland and more. Jackalope Tales explores themes of growing up, resilience, and childhood wonder. Every song on the album has an element of whimsy, while still being grounded in reality.Their second album, Standing Stones, features fourteen-tracks, four traditionals and ten originals. This album draws significantly from Greek Mythology and historical events.In 2026 Lo & the High Road embarked on a successful tour of Eastern Canada, from Toronto to Halifax. They have performed at Port Hope’s Road to Cultivate Festival, The Enchanted Forest of Fergus, Ironwood Sword School's Evening Soirée, and private wedding ceremonies.They are joined by Dave Finneran (guitar), Christine Rabey (vocals), and Jordan Baldwin (violin) for live performances.Lo & the High Road has amassed a social media following of over 200 thousand like-minded people from across the world who love fantasy stories and folk music.Shortest Bio:Lo & the High Road is a collaboration between Lauren Halász and Colin McMahon.
